Lhyfe Kemsley, a project that represents a significant part of the decarbonisation of South East England.

Located in a industrial cluster north of the Sittingbourne, Kent, UK, Lhyfe’s Kemsley project will produce up to 21.6 tonnes of green Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø per day through a 50 MW electrolysis facility. This on-site project, covering an area of over 5 hectares, has been shortlisted by the UK government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) under Hydrogen Allocation Round 2 (HAR2).

Our Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø will be produced using electricity sourced from a portfolio of generation that complies with the UK Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard (LCHS), ensuring low-carbon production throughout the life of the project. If selected under HAR2, the project will receive a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD)to support its long-term commercial viability. Its construction and commissioning remains subject to final government agreements, planning and permitting  permissions, and a final investment decision.

Our Kemsley project forms an integral part of the decarbonisation of South-East England. At full capacity, it is projected to avoid up to 50,000 tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions annually by replacing natural gas and other carbon-intensive fuels. The low carbon Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø produced will primarily supply a major industrial customer in the region while also serving other local manufacturers, helping to accelerate industrial decarbonisation and supporting the UK’s broader net-zero ambitions.
